British Art Fair Returns in September 2025 with Dynamic Programme

The British Art Fair, the UK’s only fair dedicated exclusively to Modern and Contemporary British art, returns to the Saatchi Gallery, London, from 25–28 September 2025.
Since its foundation in 1988, the fair has grown from its Modern British roots to become a flagship showcase of British art excellence, spanning mid-20th century masters to the most exciting contemporary names.
2025 Exhibitors and Highlights
The 2025 edition will present work from over 80 leading UK galleries and dealers, including Austin/Desmond Fine Art, Patrick Bourne, The Fine Art Society, Osborne Samuel, Portland Gallery, The Redfern Gallery, Alan Wheatley, and Willoughby Gerrish.
Returning exhibitors include Crane Kalman, Gallery Pangolin, Huxley-Parlour, Panter & Hall, Paul Liss, The Scottish Gallery, and Candida Stevens, while newcomers such as Gallery Ten, Jonathan Soden, Ottocento, Sisters Grimm, and Winsor Birch join the roster.
On view will be iconic works by Frank Auerbach, Banksy, John Craxton, Tracey Emin, Terry Frost, Barbara Hepworth, Damien Hirst, Ivon Hitchens, David Hockney, Albert Irvin, Gwen John, L.S. Lowry, Henry Moore, John Piper, Paula Rego, Bridget Riley, William Scott, and many more.

Unsung – Feature Exhibition
One of the programme highlights is Unsung, curated by art market journalist and British Art Fair Advisory Panel member Colin Gleadell. The exhibition shines a light on Modern British artists whose contributions have long been overlooked.
Gleadell notes:
“It could be argued that Modern British art in general is undervalued compared to its American or European counterparts, but within the Modern British market there are countless instances of artists who have been forgotten or overshadowed by more successful near contemporaries.”
Examples include Graham Sutherland compared to Francis Bacon, John Nash to Paul Nash, Mary Newcomb to Winifred Nicholson, Mary Jewels to Alfred Wallis, Balraj Khanna to M.F. Husain, Aubrey Williams to Frank Bowling, Alan Lowndes to L.S. Lowry, and Henry Cliffe to William Scott.

Market Confidence – British Art Market News
The fair also publishes BLAST, a monthly report on the British art market. Recent findings are cautiously optimistic. Despite global uncertainty, sales at Christie’s March 2025 Modern British and Irish Art auctions exceeded expectations, totalling £14.66 million with an 89.5% sell-through rate.
Artists previously overlooked due to racial prejudice, such as Dame Sonia Boyce OBE and Aubrey Williams, are also gaining recognition, with strong results moving them into the mainstream market.
SOLO CONTEMPORARY
Curated by Zavier Ellis, SOLO CONTEMPORARY returns in 2025, spotlighting some of the UK’s most dynamic contemporary gallerists and artists.
Digitalism
Following its successful debut, Digitalism, curated by Rebecca Tolley-Georgiou, presents immersive digital art experiences. The exhibition celebrates Britain’s rapidly expanding digital art scene.

Charity Partner 2025 – Hospital Rooms
This year, British Art Fair introduces Hospital Rooms as its new charity partner. The organisation works with artists to transform mental health hospitals into spaces filled with colour, creativity, and care.
At the fair, Hospital Rooms will raise funds through sales of a limited-edition print by a major contemporary artist and host an immersive installation where visitors can learn about their projects while relaxing in artist-designed surroundings.
Visiting British Art Fair 2025
Held in the Saatchi Gallery’s spacious halls, the fair provides an elegant setting to explore paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, prints, and ceramics, alongside a curated events programme. Over 12,000 visitors attend annually, making it a key date in the art world calendar.
