Born in France with swiss origin, Philippe Mathis first worked as pianist in Paris (St-Germain) for four years and then during six years until the end of the 80’s for a famous agency in Geneva (best hotels in Europe, Monaco and Asia). He used to play mainly jazz and international music. Even he wasn’t anymore in the music business, he always kept the pleasure of writing his music. One of his goal is not only to write music for piano but the most important thing is the pleasure a pianist will have to play it.

Prizes and distinctions: Prize ICCTCP 2018 (Athens, Greece), Winner and Selected Composer of the Call for Piano Recordings Competition for a new album produced and released by RMN Classical and distributed worldwide through RMN Music, Merit Diploma of the 28th International Composition Competition “Città di Barletta” (Italy), Finalist with “special mention” of the Third edition of the International Composition Competition “Maurice Ravel” Bergamo (Italy) – category small group orchestra, Winner and Selected Composer for the production STAGE & SCREEN Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, produced and distributed by ABLAZE Records world wide, 2nd Prize in the 3rd Opus Dissonus Composition Competition (Brazil), Semi-Finalist in the Instrumental category in the UK Songwriting Contest 2017, Prize to the ICCTCP 2016 (Greece), Semi-finalist International Composition Competition “Maurice Ravel” Bergamo (Italy) – Category solo instrument – First place Switzerland (2015 & 2016), First Prize Golden Key Music Festival of Vienna 2015 (category professional international), Prize to the ICCTCP 2019 (Greece).

“Toccata” for piano

Extracted from the “Spanish Suite” the Toccata revisits the tradition of piano composition that highlight the virtuosity of the pianist and also the quality of the instrument. By a lyrical inspiration, this brilliant and original piece will take you by its sensitivity and rhythmic pulsation. Written for the concert, the Toccata is an elaborate work that invites the imagination.

“Dimensions no.7″ for piano

Dimensions is a work on several tonality and the vibrations of the Universe. The Universe contain ten dimensions and the number 7 corresponds at the different state of the matter
