AN ART ARTISTRY hosts the permanent exhibition with creations of Despina Papadimitriou “Reunion Forms”. The works in this collection are characterised by the element of stone. Besides stone, other natural materials are present in the composition of each piece. The ensemblage technique -three dimensional collage- varies depending on the needs of a work and includes building, puttying, colouring, moulding and assembling.
Despina Papadimitriou uses natural materials which in the beginning is “meaningless” and “vague” for most people. She manages to create clear expressive figures that characterized by an emotional “snapshot” or the live interaction with their environment and the emotional world of the viewer at that moment. The idea behind this process is that every form used to exist before breaking up into pieces. It is the fragments of each form that the artist wants to discover in nature, recognise and finally reunite.
