Dimosthenis Chr. Stavrianos


Born in Athens, he studied classical singing and music theoretics (Harmonie, Counterpoint and Fugue) in Athens. He participated in seminars under internationally famous artists. In 2007, during a contest for young lyrical singers of the E.U. project “La bottega delle Voci – Opera dei Giovani”, he won a scholarship and the participation in a master class of the project.

He has appeared in Greece, Italy, France, Switzerland, Scotland, Belgium and Egypt.

He has collaborated with the “Tay Sinfonietta”, the Orchestre de Chambre “Chordis Novis, the Ensemble “Almazis”, the Camerata Musicale di Fano, the “MEGARON”-Thessaloniki Concert Hall Organisation, the Athens Municipal Orchestra, the Greek Composers Union and the “Orpheus Soloists”.

Also with the “Marlowe Opera”, the “Petit Opera du Monde”, the “Artio” Chamber Opera, the Opera Newn (Youth Opera), the Athens Chamber Opera in appearances include Figaro (Barbiere di Siviglia), Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Belcore (L’ elisir d’ amore), Silvio (I Pagliacci), Peter (Hӓnsel und Gretel) Dr. Malatesta (Don Pasquale), Sid (Albert Herring), Escamillo (Carmen), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly).

He has interpreted oratorios and concert music such as “Elias” F. Mendelssohn, “Ein deutsches Requiem” J. Brahms, “Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen” G. Mahler, “Winterreise” F. Schubert and in “Carmina Burana” C. Orff (“Mote Dance Fest” Maidstone 2015).

He has also appeared at “Rassegna Internazionale di Musica Sacra” of Loreto, the “Fête de la musique d’ Arsac”, the “Perthshire Festival”, the Patmos Sacred Music festival, the Greek Opera Festival and the“Mittelland Sommerfest Bern” .

He has performed the premieres of contemporary pieces and recorded most of them, some of which as a part of the project “Medieval and Recent Greece: Studies in language, literature, history and civilization”, of the University of Granada.
