Papadimitrakopoulou, Theoni

Theoni Papadimitrakopoulou

Soloist – professor of piano & higher theoretics, music educator,

She was born in Athens. He studied piano with Agathi Leimoni (piano diploma), theoretics with George Aravidis (diploma of harmony, counterpoint and fugue), musical education at the Academy of Music and Dance in Plovdiv- Bulgaria, choir and orchestra conducting with conductor Giorgos Aravidis (two years course). She has participated in more than 30 masterclasses in Greece, France, England, Italy and Bulgaria under the supervision of internationally renowned piano professors and soloists (M. Crudeli, J. & K. Ganev, S. Dimitrova, G. Mounier, A. Lefevre, L. Berman, F. Clidat, S. Aronovsky, A. Shorr, P. Badura – Skoda, An Young Shin, L. Bojadjieva, J. Zaxarieva, etc.) as well as in theoretics and musical lectures (N. Kariotis, C. Kakavelakis, G. Kouroupos, Th. Antoniou, M. Logiadis, Al. Panagiotopoulos, G. Filias, P. Mylonas, D. Papadimitriou, L. Chatzileontiadis).

She has participated and been awarded in 8 national and international piano competitions as a soloist and as a pianist duo. She has also given recitals in Greece, Italy and Bulgaria. She works as a pianist (solo, piano duo and accompanist) and music educator. As a soloist, she has appeared in concert halls in Athens (Parnassos Hall, Pallas Theater, War Museum, Mikis Theodorakis Amphitheater, Papagou Amphitheater, Hellenic American Union, Greek-French Association, Eugenides Foundation “Planetarium” “Th. Diplarakou” Gallery, AN ART ARTISTRY), Piraeus, Tavros, Kavouri, Varkiza, Vouliagmeni, Maroussi, Chalandri, Larissa, Rethymno, Rhodes, Kozani etc.

She has also appeared on television in Skay, “7 + 7” in Mega, “Other Day” in ERT 1, ERT 1 and NET newscasts. Outside Greece she has appeared in San Daniele del Friuli and Barcelona  in Italy and Plovdiv in Bulgaria.

Finally, she has presented and recorded original works by modern composers such as Ivan Spasov (Bulgaria), George Georga (Greece) (“Baroque” Concertino for two pianos and orchestra, in the first world performance with the Athens sinfonietta under the direction of the conductor Giorgos Aravidis), Dimitris Anousis (Greece) (“Iridisms” for piano & flute, “Dance of Protides” for pianistic duo, etc. in the first world performance), Sam L. Richards (USA) (“Blossoms” for solo piano), Salvatore Bezzi (Greece) (“Leprechaun” for piano 4 hands), Kotaro Morikawa (Japan) (“digital VIII” for solo piano), Jeff Manookian (“Piano Duet in E minor” for piano 4 hands), Thomas H. Woltjer (“Piano Duet in E minor”), accompanies piano diplomas, choirs, singers and other organs in exams, hearings and concerts.
