AstaGuru’s ‘ShowKeen’ to Spotlight Modern and Contemporary Indian Art in Mumbai

Mumbai is gearing up for a major celebration of Modern and Contemporary Indian art as AstaGuru Auction House brings together an extraordinary array of masterpieces at the Nehru Centre in Worli on April 11–12, 2026. The two-day showcase, titled ShowKeen, will offer art lovers and collectors a rare chance to view and acquire significant works by some of India’s most revered artists, spanning different movements and generations.

Organised by one of India’s leading art auction houses, the exhibition highlights the depth and diversity of the nation’s visual heritage. It features works by celebrated modern Indian masters such as S. H. Raza, M. F. Husain, F. N. Souza, Akbar Padamsee and Anjolie Ela Menon — artists whose contributions helped shape the course of Indian art in the 20th century and beyond.

Alongside these iconic figures, the event also celebrates vibrant contemporary voices, including Meetali Singh, Tom Vattakuzhy, Vinod Sharma and Chittrovanu Mazumdar, reflecting how Indian art continues to evolve with new perspectives and styles.

According to event organisers, ShowKeen aims to engage both seasoned collectors and new art enthusiasts by presenting carefully curated works that span decades of aesthetic exploration, cultural narratives and artistic innovation. The exhibition is expected to foster lively dialogue and deeper appreciation of India’s art history — from bold experiments in modernism to dynamic contemporary expressions.

Held at a prominent cultural landmark like the Nehru Centre — a venue long associated with arts and public engagement — the showcase reinforces Mumbai’s status as a key hub in India’s art ecosystem, drawing attention from local and international audiences alike.
